Pink is a popular colour for many females and they tend to buy many items with the colour pink. Manufacturers of good have taken notice of this and have developed and number of products in pink to target this younger female market. Pink products which have been developed include Limited Edition Pink GHD Hair Straighteners, Pink Laptops, Pink Nintendo DS Lites and Pink Televisions. The mobile phone market have taken notice of this and have released and number of mobile phones in a pink version. Here we look at three of the best Pink mobile phone offer. These are the new Samsung Tocco S5230 Lite, the LG Renoir KC910 and the
Firstly we have the Samsung Tocco Lite in baby pink. The Samsung Tocco Lite lacks 3G and Wi-fi, but compared to the original F480 Tocco it’s lighter and it has a larger screen, now 3 inches with a higher resolution, gesture lock and handwriting recognition and the colour will certainly appeal to its target market. The interactive TouchWiz interface lets you customise your home screen by dragging and dropping the widgets you use most. The screen also has an accelerometer, turn the phone sideways and the display automatically switches to widescreen landscape mode, great for viewing movies. With a microSD card slot and an excellent video and audio player, the Tocco Lite will keep you entertained on long journeys. It also has stereo Bluetooth, allowing music and sound to be streamed wirelessly with a compatible headset. The 3.2 megapixel camera has smile detection, which means it will focus and then wait until your subject smiles before taking a picture – clever stuff. The web browser is also very good, although with only GPRS connectivity large pages could be slow to load, so only suitable for occasional use. The Samsung Tocco Lite is a fun phone and excellent value for money. It has a nice interface and good multimedia capabilities
Next we have the LG Renoir KC910, which again comes in baby pink. The LG Renoir has a cool 8 megapixel cameraphone with a 3 inch touchscreen and an impressive specification. The 8 megapixel camera produces excellent photos. It has a Schneider Kreuznach lens, xenon flash plus face, smile and blink detection. It can also record video at up to 120 frames per second and has a TV out port and slow motion playback. The LG KC910 Renoir is a 3G phone with videocalling. It also has HSDPA, Wi-Fi, stereo Bluetooth and GPS for geo-tagging your photos with their exact location. There’s a decent organiser with a document viewer supporting PDF, Microsoft Word and Excel files. The advanced media player features Dolby sound, Xvid and DivX video playback.
The last phone we will look at is Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot which comes in a rose pink colour. This phone has been generating a lot of excitement. It’s the first slider phone in the Cyber-shot brand and is Sony Ericsson’s most advanced cameraphone to be relesaed. Build quality is first-rate and the C905 feels like a quality phone. Available in three colours from launch, choose from silver, bronze or matt black. The camera lens is covered by a silver strip on the back of the phone. Slide it open to activate the camera application. With 8 megapixels, xenon flash, image stabiliser, red-eye reduction and 30fps video capture, this is a serious camera. It can produce spectacular images with remarkable levels of clarity and detail.
The Sony Ericsson C905 is also brilliant for music and multimedia. It has a 2.4 inch screen, a fine music player, FM radio, stereo Bluetooth and also TV output for viewing your photos and videos on a big screen TV. With HSDPA and Wi-Fi, the C905 is also great for browsing the web. It has a GPS receiver with Google Maps and Way Finder sat nav applications. There’s also a secondary video call camera for face to face calls. The Sony Ericsson C905 is not only an excellent cameraphone, it’s a superb all-rounder.
While the mobile phone manufacturers have managed to bring out a small number of pink mobile phones, they maybe be missing a trick with the tone. While many girls love baby pink, the name baby pink and sound a bit too girly. A Cerise pink would be a nice alternative, which is not only feminine, but a bit more grown up. Cerise pink been used many recent fashion designs such as handbags, shoes and purses and could go down well with the mobile consumer.
